Online Sheet Metal Bending
Interactive 3D bending preview. See it bend before you buy.
The Future of Sheet Metal Fabrication
Traditional sheet-metal ordering is stressful — you send a flat pattern and hope the vendor bends it exactly as you imagined. Lightyear Industries removes that uncertainty with an online platform that lets you see the folded part before you order.
Upload your flat DXF, approve the 3D preview, and place the order. We cut and bend the part and deliver it to your door.
Interactive 3D Viewer
Our platform shows sheet-metal bending directly in the browser. When you upload a DXF it automatically detects your bend lines, lets you configure the bend angle and direction, and animates the folding process in 3D so you can verify the geometry instantly. See the workflow in how to order.
Precision CNC Press Brakes
Once you approve the 3D preview and place your order, our CNC press brakes fold your laser-cut parts with bend-angle accuracy up to ±0.5°. We handle complex multi-bend parts in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
How to Specify Bend Lines in a DXF
To add bends, draw dashed lines in your DXF — the system recognises non-continuous linetypes (such as DASHED, CENTER or HIDDEN) as bend lines. Only straight lines can be bend lines; arcs and curves are not recognised. Bend lines should run edge to edge across a part segment, almost touching the outer boundary, without crossing it. Full details are on the design and quote page.
Bend Allowance and K-Factor
Bending stretches the material along the neutral axis, so the flat length you need depends on the bend allowance and the material's K-factor. These terms are defined in our glossary; getting the flat pattern right is what makes the 3D preview match the finished part.
Pricing and Finishing
Metal bending is charged per bend (base indicative rate ₹ 25 per bend, exclusive of GST) in addition to cutting and material costs. Powder coating and painting are available as post-processing if you want a finished part. See the rate card for base rates and the design and quote page to configure your part.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I mark bend lines in my design?
Draw dashed, straight lines across the part; the system recognises non-continuous linetypes as bend lines. Only straight lines can be bends.
How accurate are the bends?
CNC press-brake bending holds bend-angle accuracy up to ±0.5°.
Which metals can be bent?
Mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum can be cut and bent on the platform.
Can I preview the folded part before ordering?
Yes. The interactive 3D viewer renders the folded part with your bend angles so you can verify the geometry before checkout.
